Nearly 2 decades experience in Urban Design and Land Entitlement.
The current director for the Adveencha studio. Along with the tasks of operating the businesses, I provide various digital assets for anything related to the built environment. This includes architectural drafting (residential), visual communication, and entitlement. See the services page.
This job requires many skills and responsibilities. This includes producing the necessary documents and schematics to receive entitlement on proposed developments. I develop schematic designs for urban landscapes. As a part of the process, I create artistic concepts to represent these projects for the client, municipalities, and marketing agents. I’ll draft custom residential homes, apartment/condo buildings, mixed-use projects, and recently a habitat for the Hogle Zoo. Many of these projects require completing work in a timely fashion along with a good knowledge of municipal ordinances, city application processes, meeting with city officials, Revit, Autocad, Adobe, Microsoft Office, Lumion, and 3Ds Max.
For 2 decades I have managed my own business as an artistic consultant. This part-time job includes occasionally painting or producing murals and graphics. Like my ‘day job’, my responsibilities include being a problem solver. I must find out what the client needs, and then develop a path in which to achieve it. It has allowed me to paint murals on Moab's main street, a backdrop for famous dance studios, personalized murals in the homes of Salt Lake City’s elite, install artwork in several local offices, paint bowling backdrops, schools murals and lessons, custom vehicle painting, and my favorite has been personalized portraiture of loved ones.
Chow Hill’s Urban Design department produced work for both private and public clients. The goal of our team was to find issues in the urban landscape and solve the problems by proposing changes in the built environment. My responsibilities were to meet with clients, research neighborhoods, participate in neighborhood charrettes, brainstorm solutions to urban issues, and present solutions in a graphical and written narrative.
While at JSA, my responsibilities were heavily weighed towards drafting. However, it was there that I started to work with, observe and learn from many of Utah’s premier developers such as Garbett, Reynolds, and Ivory Homes. I drafted and assisted in the design of many single-family subdivisions, and the occasional mixed-use gem.
